Senior Service Hours

SLHS seniors are required to complete 18 hours of community service during their senior year. Service hours are to be completed through a non-profit organization. Seniors can begin accumulating senior service hours anytime after September 1 of their senior year. Service hours must be completed by May 1.

 
Seniors may only be granted pre-approved service hours during the summer leading up to their senior year. Contact Mrs. Draeger or Mr. Rabideau before completing any summer hours.

Soup’s On Along the Lakeshore needs volunteers for their event WednesdayMarch 8, from 6-9 pm . Volunteers are needed for help with Guest Registration/Coat Check, Clearing Tables, and the Souvenir Bowl Area. The event takes pl ace at the Trillium Events Center located at 17246 Van Wagoner Rd in Spring Lake. From Grand Haven Main Street:  Downtown Clean-Up--4/22 8:30AM

We need your help to get our downtown cleaned up for Spring and Summer! This is going to be fairly active work outside involving picking up garbage, weeds, raking leaves, and other work downtown to give us a clean-slate after Winter. NOTES:
Mission trips may be considered for senior service hours, but they must be pre-approved for a portion of the 18 hours. Contact Mr. Rabideau or Mrs. Draeger for approval ahead of time.
All senior service hours MUST be completed through a non-profit agency or organization. Students cannot perform service hours for family members. Parents/Relatives MAY NOT verify senior service hours.
The service hours should be completed in our local community.
Senior service hour opportunities will be listed on this page as well as in the high school’s daily announcements.
 
Looking for Volunteers?
If you have an event or an opportunity where seniors can earn service hours, please email complete details including the date, time, location, the number of volunteers needed, and contact information to Mrs. Draeger or Mr. Rabideau at ldraeger@springlakeschools or jrabideau@springlakeschools.org.
 
How to Report Senior Service Hours
Upon completion of each volunteer service, submit a signed senior service hours verification form. The pdf form is attached below - just click and print -  OR ask the person who supervised your senior service hours to submit an email verifying your senior service hours to Mr. Rabideau at jrabideau@springlakeschools.org or Mrs. Draeger at ldraeger@springlakeschools.org.
